1. Go Picnic Edamame Kale Dip & Plantain Chip Snack Box

Savory edamame kale dip, crispy roasted plantain chips, ginger zip fruit & nut mix, a sweet & tangy tropical fruit peel-a-part, and two chocolate chip cookies for dessert (8g protein/540mg sodium/gluten-free).

Sunflower Butter & Multigrain Crackers box is also vegan + gluten-free but I prefer the selections in the edamame box.

2. Kitchen & Love Ready Meals

Fully cooked and ready to eat, no preparation, cooking, water, or refrigeration needed. Vegan, gluten free, dairy free (4-10g protein/ about 600mg sodium)

These did taste a bit salty to me and I LOVE salty foods, beware if you have sodium issues.

Quinoa meals: Spicy Jalapeño & Roasted Peppers or Artichoke & Roasted Peppers

Cauliflower meals: Moraccan Vegetable Harissa, Peruvian Vegetable Ceviche and Indian Vegetable Curry

Farro meals: Grilled Vegetables & Herbs or Artichoke, Lemon & Roasted Pepper

3. Vigilant Eats

Superfood cereal cups, available in awesome flavors like Apple Cinnamon, Sweet Potato, Banana Chia, Goji Cacao, Coconut Chai and Espresso Maca Mulberry (my favorite). Organic, gluten free, vegan, non GMO and kosher. No soy, no dairy, no additives, no preservatives and no refined sugar (8g protein/10g sugars). Just add cold water, hot water, or milk.

4. Mediterra Black Olive & Walnut Savory Bar

If your palette swings more savory than sweet, this bar will certainly satisfy. The amaranth puffs and black olive bits add a chewy texture. One of these bars and a piece of fresh fruit is my go-to airport breakfast (6g protein/3g sugars).

5. Noka Superfood Smoothies

Ready-to-drink organic smoothies just like you’d get from your local smoothie shop, but no refrigeration required. Made with 100% organic fruits and veggies, plant protein, flax seed, nutrient-rich superfoods, essential Omega-3s and antioxidants for balanced nutrition and energy(5g protein/10g sugars). Super fast calories that you can drink.

6. Dr. McDougall’s Right Foods

Opt for McDougall’s Black Bean and Rice Vegan Soup cup if you’re looking for a low sodium plant-based meal. (7g protein/330mg sodium) Just add hot water.

7. Chef Soraya Bowls

High protein, boldly flavored, non-GMO plant-based bowls; great grab-and-go meal. Flavors: Chana Masala, Chipotle, Creole, Cuban, Kathmandu Curry, Tex Mex Chile Lime. I haven’t tried these myself but am including them in this list based on favorable Amazon reviews and the high protein content (11-13g protein/about 600mg sodium). Just add water.

8. Khazana Gourmet Indian Meals

Khazana uses organic whole Ingredients and spices you can identify. Pre-made, pre-cooked & instant, ready-to-go sustenance, available in five flavors- Red Lentils Curry, Yellow Lentils w/Chickpeas Curry, Tikka Masala Chickpeas Curry, BlackGram w/Red Kidney Beans Curry, Smoky Chipotle Chickpeas Curry. If you tend to puff up on airplanes, these are a good low sodium meal option (2-4g protein/200mg sodium) The texture is mushy, meh, but the ingredients are a little cleaner than Tasty Bite. I recommend eating eat with crackers.

9. Leaf Side

Leaf Side meal packs only use freeze-dried ingredients thus, they do not need to use preservatives. Both sweet and savory meal packs are shelf stable for about six months.

Soups and stir-bowls have been designed to be placed into a small pot or bowl (minimum volume 1 quart, or 1 liter, or 4.5 cups), and then have hot water added.  For best results, stir the contents thoroughly, then cover them for the time shown on the package instructions, for complete re-hydration. That’s all there is to it; after 7-10 minutes you can eat a delicious and nourishing meal!
